Privacy Policy

This policy describes how JL Collective LLC ("JL Collective," "we," "us") handles information on this website and in the course of providing our services. We have tried to write it in plain language, because that is how we would want it written for us.

This website

This website does not set cookies, does not run analytics, and does not use advertising trackers. We do not collect personal information from visitors who are simply browsing.

Web fonts are served from this website's own domain. Loading them shares nothing with any third party.

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it to respond to you and to keep a record of our correspondence. We do not sell it, rent it, or add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.

Client services

When we provide marketing or software services to a business, we may access that business's advertising accounts and related data through platform APIs (for example, Meta's marketing APIs) — always with the business's explicit authorization, and only to provide the services they engaged us for. In that work:

• We access only the data needed to plan, monitor, report on, and manage the client's own marketing. In practice that is: account details; campaign, ad set, and ad structure; performance metrics (impressions, clicks, spend, reach, frequency, CTR, CPC, CPM, and conversions); custom audience names and sizes, never audience members or personal identifiers; pixel configuration; ad delivery issues; the granting business's id and name; and the access token the business grants, which we hold encrypted until it is revoked.
• We do not sell client data or use one client's data for another client's benefit.
• We do not use client data to train machine-learning models.
• We use third-party providers to deliver the services, including hosting, databases, and the AI models our software calls. We use them only to do the client's own work, and we do not give any of them client data for their own purposes.
• Changes that affect a client's advertising accounts are reviewed and approved by a named, authorized approver — a JL Collective principal, or a person the client designates — before they are made, and every approval is recorded with the approver's identity. The one exception is a pause-only spend safeguard that a client authorizes in advance, in writing: it can only stop delivery, never start it or increase a budget, and each use is recorded with the authorizing person's identity. Any approval rights the client holds are set out in that client's own agreement with us.
• Clients may revoke our access at any time through the relevant platform's business settings (for example, Meta Business Manager).

Data retention and deletion

We keep service records only as long as needed to provide the services, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and maintain an audit history of approved actions. To request deletion of data we hold about you or your business, email hello@thejlcollective.com with the subject line "Data deletion request." We will confirm receipt, and we will act on verified requests within 30 days unless the law requires us to retain something, in which case we will tell you what and why.

If a client revokes our platform access or the engagement ends, we delete the platform data we hold for that client within 30 days, except records we must retain by law.

Security

We use access controls, credential isolation, and audit logging in the systems we operate. No system is perfectly secure, but we build ours so that access is limited, recorded, and revocable.

Children

Our website and services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here with a new effective date. Material changes to how we handle client data are communicated to clients directly.
